De-Ice, one of the UK’s longest-established and leading gritting and snow clearance specialists, is knee deep in its winter 2015-2016 planning stage – with the aim of ensuring client sites remain safe and operational when exposed to harsh weather. Vicky Lopez, director at De-ice, said:
“Even though Britain is gearing up for a heatwave, we never take our eye off the ball as we know that Winter will be here before we know it. And, when it is we (and our clients), are ready to take on adverse weather conditions. I’d urge any companies that haven’t prepared for winter to do so now – before it’s too late.”
Britain’s unusual weather patterns over the last few years have left many businesses counting the cost of being unprepared.
With the UK’s top climate scientists reviewing the weather data, many believe that sustained periods of freezing conditions look set for the UK this winter. Businesses need to accept that unusual weather has become the usual and plan now for how negative effects of extreme winter weather can be avoided.
Vicky continues: “It might seem crazy to many to be thinking of snow when we’re enjoying sun and soaring temperatures, but it’s imperative for the successful running of any business that they prepare ahead of time. This is why we spend these ‘quieter’ months planning and training regional teams before freezing temperatures hit.”
