DON’T TAKE A GAMBLE ON THE WINTER WEATHER
– De-ice will be asking FMs if they are prepared to gamble with staff and customer safety this winter –
Leading winter risk management business, De-ice (www.de-ice.co.uk) will be asking FMs at this year’s Facilities Show if they are prepared to gamble with staff and customer safety this winter.
Mark Lopez, managing director at De-ice, comments: “The last three winters have all been relatively mild with few major snow events. But, the question remains, will the cards fall the same next winter? Or are we due arctic conditions with plummeting temperatures? The truth is, no-one knows.
“What we can be certain of is that being unprepared has the potential to set us on a slippery slope to open ended risk and litigation. FMs need to ask themselves whether they can afford to take a gamble and do nothing.
“We would always advise that it is never too early to get the ball rolling and start your winter resilience planning.”
The company will again be hosting the De-ice bar and cafe, where the FM VIP area is located and show visitors can grab a bite to eat and drink. They can also take on the ‘Snowball Challenge’ with the chance to win £50 in M&S vouchers.
