After a busy few days at the Excel in London for Facilities Show 2014, we have returned to the office and are now reflecting on the time spent at the show.

The De-ice Arena

There were several new things for us at this year’s show. We had a new exhibition stand built which was larger and more eye catching than we’ve had before. We took part in the presentations and were joined by Jonathan Tetley from Plexus Law to give our potential clients a better understanding of the Health and Safety aspect of the law. We sponsored the De-ice Arena, which had a Networking Area, Meet the Buyer rooms, VIP Area, F1 Car Simulator and a football area which we used for a Penalty Shoot Out at the end of each day. We are pleased to say that the De-ice team ‘The Blue Boys’ won the Penalty Shoot Out, but not without a tremendous effort from the other teams – one person’s effort resulting in split trousers!

The De-ice Girls

The excitement didn’t just take place during the day though, in the evenings entertainment was provided each night. Tuesday UBM hosted the Exhibitors Party at Indigo o2, bands including The Diamonds and solo artist David Julian. Wednesday night there was a tour of the Olympic village and Thursday night De-ice hosted the After Show Party which had a Football theme, starting with a Football Quiz and finishing with the England match. The winner of the football quiz was presented with a replica of the World Cup Football by none other than David Corbett, the owner of Pickles (the dog who found the stolen world cup in 1966).

Fortunately we had a much better night than the England Football Team and we celebrated the successful show until early hours of the morning.

Team Celebrations

On reflection, the past few days have been a fantastic team effort and has resulted in a huge step forward for De-ice.
