The latest news is that 2018 has been the hottest summer on record for
England. But as the balmy summer draws to a close, De-ice the winter
gritting and risk management specialist, is busy planning for what it hopes
will be an eventful season ahead.
Vicky Lopez, director at De-ice, comments: “An above average summer does
nothing to discount another cold and snowy winter. In fact, over our 20+
years of operation, our records show that from this pattern it could well be
another relentless winter.
“Last winter was record breaking across the board, and our most challenging
one yet. This was thanks to three major snow events all rolled into one
season, which saw some counties cut off completely. De-Ice’s snow ploughs
were out in full force with a reported 1500+ hours operation across Britain.
“Every year, we make sure we are fully prepared right from the outset of the
winter (October), providing a comprehensive service to our clients. And we
urge them to be prepared too.
“Many companies are now beginning to appreciate the levels of investment
they need to put into place to ensure they have the right solutions and
support. Failure to do so could result in loss of earnings or injury. Don’t
get caught out this winter.”

Notes to editors
De-ice is one of the UK’s longest-established and leading winter gritting and snow clearance specialists.
The company provides winter maintenance services, helping to keep businesses, hospitals, schools and retail outlets safe and open during extreme weather.
De-ice is focused on ensuring customers’ sites are made safe and remain open during periods of adverse weather. It has the latest gritting equipment and expertly trained operatives.
The company has built a bespoke technology system which monitors the weather and triggers service delivery alerts. The system then tracks operatives through their PDAs, to gauge whether service delivery has taken place.
In the event of a possible claim, De-ice customers can rely on an extensive service audit trail in order to evidence that a site or an area was fully serviced.
