We’re well into December now and we’ve been seeing some wet and windy weather. Yet, here at De-ice HQ we’re not letting the cold and wet dampen spirits; quite the reverse, we’re getting all festive in the run up to Christmas. Our team got on board with the true spirit of Christmas Jumper day, donning our colourful jumpers on Friday 13th December to raise money for Save the Children. Some of us even went so far as to sport festive headgear!
It was a fun start to the year with local school children naming the newest addition to our gritting fleet RuleGrittania http://www.de-ice.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Rule-Grittania-Grits-The-Way.pdf. RuleGrittania has been out and about on the roads a lot already, along with GrittyMcGritface and GritterGarbo and our whole fleet is well prepared for whatever the weather throws at us.
It’s not all fun and frolics, our team has been very busy these past few months putting in place winter maintenance plans, visiting sites and making sure everything is ready to keep our customers’ sites safe from snow and ice. If you’re interested to know more about how we plan out the year and stay focused on winter all through the summer give our ‘Reverse Winter Planning’ article a read. https://www.fmj.co.uk/going-into-reverse
Little snow this winter, so far… but it’s still early in the season so who knows what lies around the corner. What we do know is that it will be ‘all hands on deck’ when the cold really arrives! Our team is used to operating in challenging environments and are ready for whatever comes our way in 2020 and the next decade.
Wishing you a ‘safe’ and Happy Christmas and a New Year full of certainty,
Vicky and Mark Lopez and the De-ice team
